Safety Issues

from Foxsports.com
The team is approaching the league deadline with SS Donovin Darius, and it appears unlikely the Jaguars will give him the franchise designation for a third consecutive year. The team will open contract negotiations in hopes of working out a long-term deal, but Darius is wanting far more than the Jaguars will be willing to pay for a player at his position. Darius is coming off his best season, including a career-high five interceptions, but the team feels it has a promising replacement in Deke Cooper.

If worse came to worse I suppose they can just keep him for one more year and then let him go after next season. He is too much of a professional to sit out so I wouldnt worry about that.

I just fear his demands are so much that we cant find any team willing to meet them. We probably couldnt trade him for a second day draft pick at this point because no team could match his salary demands.

on a different note i just started my own blog. its http://sesports.blogspot.com/ Going to be a lot of jaguars posts but not specific to that subject. I added your name to my small list of other blogs. if you could add mine to yours thatd be awesome. see ya around...
